Pride and Prejudice

University of Nevada, Reno -- April 2025

Written by Kate Hamill, Directed by Rosie Brownlow-Calkin

Role: Scenic Painter

For this project, I assisted in the layout and painting of a herringbone wood treatment on the floor of the studio space for the production. The treatment consisted of a base coat of latex paint with a tinted glaze applied over it, followed by a final seal treatment.

Guys & Dolls

University of Nevada, Reno -- February 2025

Music by, Frank Loesser, Book by Jo Swerling, Directed by Adam Cates

Role: Scenic Painter

In this role, I led a team to complete all stone treatments for the production, including a brick treatment on a curved surface, and assisted with other scenic painting tasks as became necessary.

The brick treatment consisted of a grey base coat with bricks stamped over. The treatment was finished with a series of washes to add shadows and depth, then sealed.

Texturing Treatment Project

University of Nevada, Reno -- January 2025

THTR 389 -- Project

For this project, I was assigned to paint 6 different textures onto sheets of maso. My selected textures included red bricks, polished wood, tile, rusty metal, cobblestone, and old painted wood.

Eldorado Floor Treatment

Eldorado Casino Showroom

Role: Freelance Scenic Painter

On this project, I worked with a team of 2 other freelance scenic painters to apply a wood look treatment to the floor of the Eldorado Showroom. The show was cancelled before opening, however, this represents the largest scale painting treatment I have completed to date. The treatment here is similar to that used for Pride and Prejudice except it was applied using large car wash brushes instead of paint brushes to achieve the large-board look at a distance.
